Myriad of Palestinians being attacked by the Israeli occupation every single day, hoping for a free land and a peaceful lifestyle. Thus, let’s talk about 4 gleaming Palestinian women who merit more recognition.
1- KARIMEH ABBUD
Karimeh Abbud was born in Bethlehem in 1893, she was the first professional arab female photographer, for which she was able to make a living from her art depicting the Palestinian society before 1948.
2- LEILA KHALED
Khaled was born in Palestine in 1944 under the geopolitical entity ” Mandatory Palestine”, she is an activist and a former militant in addition to as a member of the popular front for the liberation of Palestine. Leila Khaled is a female fighter for the freedom of her land.
3- SHIREEN ABU AKLEH
Shireen Abu Akleh was born in Jerusalem in 1971, she was an American-Palestinian journalist, who worked as a reporter for Al Jazeera for 25 years, Abu Akleh was a figure of the Palestinian resilience and the oppression that Palestinians endure, in 2022 she was killed by the Israeli occupation when she was reporting the Israeli attack on the Jenin refugee camp.
4- HIND AL-HUSSEINI
Al-Husseini was born in 1916 in Jerusalem, she established an orphanage after 1948, to rescue the majority of Palestinian children who lost their parents during the Israeli occupation, for which she was able to rescue 55 children from the Deir Yassin massacre.
