GLASS OF WINE

00:30 the view wasn’t soothing

A stemware glass of wine in my hands

Blue eyeliner was sobbing

Tears dropped on the counter

Was looking at me saying

” You know what pain is”

I’ve seen it in your eyes

I’ve drunk a sip of wine

Yearning surrender in my life.

THE REAL STORY BEHIND MULAN

Disney marked many generations with their movies, especially Disney princess, but the real version of these movies could be a victory or a real tragedy.

MULAN (ANIMATION MOVIE)

Mulan was produced by Walt Disney feature animation and released in 1998 by Walt Disney Pictures. The story is about ”FA MULAN” the daughter of an aged warrior ”FA ZHOU”, in which she personates of being a man to take her father’s place during hun invasion….

THE REAL STORY

The animation movie is based from an ancient Chinese folk story called ”THE BALLAD OF MULAN”, in which it takes place in the northern Wei dynasty that ruled northern China from 386 to 535. Mulan’s real name is ”HUA MULAN” which means ”Magnolia flower”,”THE BALLAD OF MULAN” is a chinese poem of anonymous origin that contains 360 words, which it depicts the story of Mulan who joined the army in her father’s place who couldn’t join it due to his elderliness impersonated as a male. Thus, there’s no huge differences between the real story and the Disney movie, but many historians don’t believe that Mulan existed in history because there is no evidence to confirm that it is real, but personally I do believe that Mulan existed before because I do trust the idea of any tale has its truth, in which anything got the inspiration from something real. WOMEN AND WITCHES

”Women who are accused to be witches are brilliant minds of their age and a threat to the patriarchy”.-MATILDA JOSLYN (WOMAN ,CHURCH ,AND STATE)

A BRIEF HISTORY

Witchcraft, witches, and wizards dated from the ancient near east and Nile valley especially in Babylon and Ancient Egypt,it’s unclear when witches come to the scene, moreover in the 14th and 15th centuries witch-hunts appeared in southern France and Switzerland….the causes of witch-hunts comprise lack of education, and social crises.

Thus, as you can see, witches existed before….but women aren’t witches. In the Middle Ages any woman who was educated, courageous, confident sexually liberated, beautiful, and of course against the patriarchy was accused of being a witch, and needless to say, they were burned at the stake to protect the society from them. Witches history has a deep relationship with feminism because the majority of these women who were burned by the church in the Middle Ages were against the patriarchy and sought emancipation as it was mentioned in the article of ” Witches are having their hour” by Laura M. Holson https://www.nytimes.com/2019/10/11/style/pam-grossman-witch-feminism.html ” The witch is a feminine archetype who has authority over herself. She doesn’t get power in relationship to other people. She has power on her own terms. And because of that she is, I believe, the ultimate feminist icon”.

So Dracula was described by Sam Stoker with a long mustache, sharp teeth, thin and with pointed ears in which was living in a castle located in Romania. Sam Stoker wrote the novel from his imagination not from historical features, which was about Harker that escapes the castle after discovering that Dracula was a vampire….
