LET’S TALK ABOUT HOOKUP CULTURE

Hookup culture is a culture that supports casual sex, one-night stands…. Without commitments or emotional intimacy, in which it emerged in the city life of the 1920s.

-BIOLOGICAL DIFFERENCES BETWEEN WOMEN AND MEN.

Women are more threatened to regret or to feel depressed the day after the sexual act than men. Simply because women use feelings more dominantly than men, biologically we express emotions more frequently than men do. Indeed, sometimes can lead women to desire having something more than sex with her night stand partner.

-IS HOOKUP CULTURE HEALTHY OR UNHELTHY?

There’s lack of nuance in this question, because personally I believe that it depends on the individual, and it’s fantasies in this universe, but let’s see some pros and cons of hookup culture.

PROS: Develop your sexuality/ Meet different kind of people… CONS: Emotional distress/ Sexual transmitted infections…

– POV.

In my regard I’m not with hookup culture even tho I’m with sexual freedom, because I believe that hookup culture comprise cons more than pros as for instance sexual transmitted illnesses which it could be a long time period problem or the psychological distress that could guide to a horrendous social withdrawal, including the ideology of ”Badass free women” relating it to sex and hookup culture, which is totally false…. Thus, what’s y’all perspectives about hookup culture?

So i hope y’all enjoyed it. Don’t forget to share y’all thoughts with us down below// Take Care//

  1. Great topic. I can’t speak for women, but based on my own experience and years ministering to broken men – the hook up culture is absolutely destructive. In men it fosters wrong thinking about women, low self esteem (long term), irresponsibility, and basically a false idea of what it means to be a man.

    1. When we talk about hookup culture Women and Men are both including in it…. In which we should respect people’s privacy everyone has the total right to do what he/she wants… Thus, society always has a pejorative perception of women due to many reasons that embody ” The Patriarchy”.

  3. This is a really interesting topic, especially for single people. I wonder if a lot of shame and regret some women feel is because sometimes the hookup was forced (It was rape). I’ve noticed as a single woman that most of the guys I date try to hookup within a few dates, but I have learned to make them wait. Most are gone within a month. I think there’s a mindset where some guys feel entitled to sex after a 3rd date. It can definitely take some trial and error. I want to wait until I’m in a real relationship before taking that step … but sometimes that can take years.

    1. Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us.. Personally a month is nothing to share such an intimacy with someone that I’ve just went with him in a few dates… But that shows also that these guys want just sex aren’t looking forward to get to know the emotional, psychological sides of the opposite sex.

      1. That’s so true! And you’re right that a month isn’t that long at all. This year I’d like to get to know someone for at least 6 months before getting intimate. If they leave after a month they only wanted one thing.
