I’m always exhilarated to watch fashion weeks videos online as I’m fascinated to know the history, behind it. As also reading biographical; fashion books about the famed personalities in the industry. Thus, let’s talk about 3 finest fashion designers.


Was born on August 19, 1883, in Sounur France. Chanel was born into poverty in the French countryside, after the death of her mother, her father put her in an orphanage. At the age of 18 she embarked her carrier on sewing in which in the meantime she was a singer in the Vichy café, whereby in this era where she gained her nickname ”COCO”. Around the age of 20 Chanel have been the girlfriend of the English polo Player ” BOY CAPEL” who helped her financially to open her first store on 21 rue Cambon in Paris, under the name of ” CHANNEL MODES”. She has a huge impact in the fashion industry by creating ” THE LITTLE BLACK DRESS” or by creating ” THE MODERN WOMEN’S SUIT”, and so on…..


Daniel Day is a Harlem couturier was born in August 8,1944. Upon he joined an educational program sponsored by Columbia University, he got a trip to Africa, where he found his main inspiration. In 1982, he opened his proper 24-hour store on 125th street between Madison and fifth avenues. He’s efficient visits to luxurious department stores made him create a customized streetwear for local HIP-HOP artists, and gangsters… adorned with major fashion houses logos, when luxurious brand noticed it Dan faced lawsuits that claimed he had violated brand’s copyrights, succeeding by shutting down his store by Fendi’s led. In 2017, he launched a fashion line with” GUCCI”, at which he opened his second store ” DAPPER DAN HARLEM”.


We cannot talk about fashion legends without mentioning MR, DIOR, was born in Granville in France, 1905. He started his career by selling his sketches on the street to make pocket money. After dropping out of school he took over a gallery that was bought by his father to sell artistic pieces of art including ” Pablo Picasso”. After the great depression he closed his gallery, and he worked under fashion designer of ”Robert Piguet” then ” Couturier Lucien”. Thus, in 1946 he opened his first boutique on Avenue montaigne Paris under the name of ”CHRISTIAN DIOR”.

    1. Yeah,i knew that she had ties with the Nazi party….. But in the article i wanted to talk just about the artist side.. cause I’m planning to write an article about the dark side of some artists..

      1. fashion history ends up being so complicated. I think she might have even been against feminism, but like Margaret Thatcher used the feminine to “work” the man’s world she wanted power in.
        Are you going to chose different artists for the dark side article or these same ones? I admit I only read about Coco before and don’t know the others on your list historically. I look forward to your writing for sure!
